media files

Hi all, I'm maintaining 7.20 on Solaris 2.6 which stores an info about some audio files. The media files are currently living outside the database self. It's very uncomfortable to handle (move, rename, to reference etc.). But on the other side its easy to backup and other. I'm just curious about you opinion about things like Datablade, or with storing media in any database. Thanks Peter
