Thanks your comment.
But the server use /dev/null as backup device, there is onconfig
LTAPEDEV /dev/null
BAR_ACT_LOG /dev/null
Any opinions ?

what is the value of ALARMPROGRAM parameter? can you show that script. ________________________________ From: Mockey Chen <mockey.chen@nsn.com> To: ids@iiug.org Sent: Wednesday, January 14, 2009 1:39:45 PM Subject: log_full.sh exit with code 163 [14516] Hi, I saw online.log some errors like this: Process exited with return code 163: /bin/sh /bin/sh -c /usr/informix/etc/log_full.sh 2 23 Now my database is slow to response, I/O seems very high. The return of 163 is just an error return from that script. It usually
means that you installed the default log_full.sh which calls onbar to backup
the logical logs but you don't actually use onbar and have no configured it
to work. If this is correct, then change the ALARMPROGRAM to another script
that either does nothing or one that uses ontape to backup the logs (like
the eventalarm.c executable in my utils3_ak package).
That likely has nothing to do with the high IO. Post the output from the
following onstat commands and we'll see if we can help. If it's a simple
configuration adjustment, we will, if the problem's more complex then you
may have to hire a consultant. Oh, also post your IDS version and platform
information, that helps a lot.
onstat -p
onstat -d
onstat -m
onstat -c
onstat -C
onstat -g glo
onstat -g iov
onstat -g iof
onstat -P
