Gimmmi a Favour .......plz I need some goodies abt On_archive...mind sending me some good articals , pdf html files etc. thanx my id is shiv.lnt.engineer thanx
I thought onarchive was a dead product.
Advantages of onbar:
- Archive to multiple and virtual devices
- Point-in-time restore
- Unattended backups (I know everyone does them with ontape, but it's
*really* not designed for them)
- Compliance to industry standards to allow you to interface to backup
products like Omniback and Veritas - so you could integrate your Unix
and IDS backups if you wanted ...
and loads more.
Ontape is easy but it's very primitive.
Onarchive is not something anyone will shed any tears over.

Disadvantages of onarchive:
You are unlikely to be able to restore using it.
