Need help with Informix performance

I have an application that runs really fast in Sql Server. The same one, but in Informix is really slow. I hace imported the database from Sql to Informix, (tables, views, indexes and keys), and everything works fine, and also set the lock mode to row, but the informix system is at least 3 or 4 times slower than Sql Server one. Somebody can help me about how can I increase speed of the system??? The database is a Informix 9.3 in a HP-UX server.
