Weblogic (http://www.weblogic.com) is currently developing native method drivers for Informix. You might ask to be notified when the product goes beta (they have a nice 30 day free eval program) SCO claims to have a similar solution with SQL/Retriever. But I was unable to get much info about it, or get a working demo to play with. Openlink also claims to offer drivers, but I've had no luck getting their product working. Their support seems a little disorganized, and my email hasn't been answered. I've used Weblogic's jdbc/Kona for Oracle in the past, and it's a solid product. The company has good customer service, and a clear vision of where their product fits in. The only complaint I had was with the t3server itself (that acts as a middleman for applet requests). It had I/O blocking problems, and would eat 5-6% of my server's CPU when blocking. I wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with SGI's port of the JDK to IRIX. Weblogic claims that this problem hasn't been reported under Solaris. I plan to give Weblogic a try. Please post experiences with other JDBC products to the newsgroup...I think it would be useful to have a variety of reviews.
