One of the things to look at is correlated sub-query behavior. IDS 7.3 includes code to unwind correlated sub-queries into simple joins in the optimizer. This can result in significant performance improvement if there are indexes available to support the resulting join condition. If there are no such indexes on the tables involved there can be noticable performance degradation. Just what you are seeing. PeopleSoft code is know to use correlated sub-queries extensively. The newest versions apparently added the missing indexes which you will need to do also. Art S. Kagel
