Check onbar process
Posted in 1999
Hi!
We are facing a problem saving our logical logs using
log_full.sh. Some of our production systems run Informix
7.24, others 7.31.
We use the following line, to check whether a logical log backup
runs already (starting onbar -l twice leads occasionally
to a hang of the first onbar):
ps -ef | grep -v grep | grep 'onbar.* -l'
Now we suspect, that the normal backup process (onbar -b -L 0)
in 7.31 starts an own logical log backup, which we can´t find
with this method (and it prevents the normal onbar -l) from
running.
A trivial solution would be to check for ´onbar´, but it
applys only to 7.31.
Have anybody an idea, how can we do better this check? Maybe a
systable or something else?
Our platform is
SINIX-Y 5.43 C2003
Sorry for my poor english.
best regards
