>From IBM Informix Tech Notes, why would you want to do this? Problem This article describes how to disable parallel clearing of the physical and logical logs on the secondary of a HDR pair during its logical recovery. Solution Q. How do you disable parallel clearing of the physical and logical logs on the secondary of a HDR pair during logical recovery? A. Before the secondary instance is started, set the following environment variable: INFORMIX_SLOW_CLEAR=1 If the environment variable is in effect, the message below will NOT appear in the message log during recovery: Clearing the physical and logical logs has started Unset the environment variable and bounce the engine to re-enable the parallel clearing feature. This feature of parallel clearing of physical and logical logs is first implemented in 7.31.UD2, 9.40.UC1 and 10.00.UC1. Thanks, Andrew
