Plan to buy a book on informix sql programming so that i can learn not just the synatx, but the cursor, store procedure.... etc any suggestion. -- Message posted via DBMonster.com http://www.dbmonster.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/informix/200803/1
Why buy when you can go online and get the information for free? If you register with IBM, I believe you have access to the online documentation that comes with IDS. It should contain a .pdf manual of SQL and then other manuals on the other features. > From: u42118@uwe.iiug.org > Subject: Plan to buy a book on informix sql > Date: Wed, 26 Mar 2008 16:33:07 +0000 > To: informix-list@iiug.org > > Plan to buy a book on informix sql programming > > so that i can learn not just the synatx, but the cursor, store procedure.... > etc > > any suggestion. > > -- > Message posted via DBMonster.com > http://www.dbmonster.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/informix/200803/1 > > _______________________________________________ > Informix-list mailing list > Informix-list@iiug.org > http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list _________________________________________________________________ Watch “Cause Effect,” a show about real people making a real difference. Just to enrich Ian's post, here's the link the the documentation: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v111/
LOL. Thanks for the link. I recommend that everyone copy that link to your bookmarks. Just try and find the books on the IBM website when you need them. No, not a dig against IM, but IGS since they're the ones who control the IBM website. At least so I'm told.... ;-) -G > From: gerardo.santana@gmail.com > Subject: Re: Plan to buy a book on informix sql > Date: Wed, 26 Mar 2008 10:44:25 -0700 > To: informix-list@iiug.org > > Just to enrich Ian's post, here's the link the the documentation: > > http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v111/ > _______________________________________________ > Informix-list mailing list > Informix-list@iiug.org > http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list _________________________________________________________________ How well do you know your celebrity gossip? http://originals.msn.com/thebigdebate?ocid=T002MSN03N0707A

Let's see: Product: informix Company: IBM Let's try http://www.ibm.com/informix ... works... what do we see...? A left menu... What's on top? "library"... nice... let's try it... Wow!!!! A lot of links to all kinds of documentation including a "Manuals Online" with a bold sentence "at no charge"... It even has a link to "Bookstore".... Difficult? The Web site has a lot of dark secrets, but the Informix Documentation is not one of them... :) Regards -- Fernando Nunes Portugal http://informix-technology.blogspot.com My email works... but I don't check it frequently...
