Cache connect to Oracle
Posted in 2007
A poster asked for help with an Oracle TimesTen "Cache Connect" error ("DSN not found or default DSN not specified") and wondered about version compatibility between TimesTen and Oracle 10.1/10.2. The thread is off-topic for an Informix group, and responses were mostly jokes ("Have you tried UPDATE STATISTICS") plus a suggestion to ask in comp.databases.oracle and a plug for migrating to Informix 11.1. No actual diagnosis or resolution of the DSN problem is recorded.

Nothing. Clive's answer was just a smartass way of trying to tell you that you are probably in the wrong newsgroup. Try comp.databases.oracle instead. HTH, Richard

The best suggestion I can give you is that Informix 11.1 (Cheetah) will be released for general availability shortly. You should start planning your Oracle to Informix migration now. FYI: all Informix database servers are backward compatible by default. Online 5, and IDS 7,9,10 and 11 can all live happily together. --EEM > -----Original Message----- > From: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:informix-list- > bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of gaurav > Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2007 1:17 AM > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: Cache connect to Oracle > > Hi friends > i am facing a severe problem in cache connect to Oracle.i tried > much but i got an error > that DSN not found or default dsn not specified > Please help anybody. > i have a doubt that is'nt there any mismatch between the versions of > timesten and oracle 10g > i am using Oracle version 10.1...... > is'nt it compatible with 10.2.............. > Help!........... > > _______________________________________________ > Informix-list mailing list > Informix-list@iiug.org > http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list
