Problem - Foxpro ODBC to Informix Database

Using the Informix ODBC Driver from Intersolve to access Informix Database (5.01) When you open 6 or more local Foxpro data files you are unable to get an ODBC connection . If you get your ODBC connections first you can then open lots of Foxpro files. Obviously you can code round this but is there a known bug or a way round this so you don't have to get connect first ?
