Re: Connection to the database is slow

Mukta I had a similar problem and noticed that setnet32 application also was slow connecting. I posted this question on 12/29 if you wish to read that thread. In a nutshell, I had two problems contributing to the slow connect (and setnet32 startup). 1. I had a non-DNS IP address listed in my DNS servers on the PC. 2. Using setnet32 on the PC I had specified a filename in the INFORMIXSQLHOSTS variable (c:\\informix\\etc\\sqlhosts). This variable should be empty or should point to a host (eg. //hostname).
