Starting Informix Dynamic Server !

Hi Gurus, Just wondering is there any difference in starting the informix engine as root user versus as Informix user. ? The reason why I ask this question is , the IDS 7.23 UC6 on HP-UX 10.2 crashes due to a bug (declared as bug by Informix Technical support)when we start informix engine as Informix user . But last time, our System Admin started the engine as root user. So far, the engine hasn't crashed. Thank you, Hari
