Building a client/server app using Informix and Powerbuilder (Gupta, ObjectView, etc...) is definitely possible, I've already done it. You just need the right configuration. Here's one: Unix - Informix On-line 5.0 I-Star PC - I-Net PC FTP TCP/IP PowerBuilder w/Informix Server Interface Install the software, start up the sqlexecd (sql daemon), make sure the ports are the same on the client and server (located in /etc/services) and voila... client/server. Configurations may vary, but this is the basic idea. I also use ObjectView for developing apps, and Forest & Trees for the Report Writer. Good luck, Joe jsg@copley.com
