If you run the server on a Sun and the clients on SGIs, why is there any NFS mount at all? I am assuming that the Sun runs the Informix server and has the data on its disks. The clients run on the SGI boxes and communicate with the server, but they do not need to have the disk NFS mounted. Also, you are upgrading the server to 7, but are you also upgrading the clients? Esql apps built after version 5 shouldn't need additional software since the INet stuff was built in starting with version 6. The clients will need a copy of the sqlhosts file to look at as well as a msg directory to pull message text from. Kurt Mehlhoff kurt@infoadvan.com
