Re: Informix Server 9.4 Installation Problem

I'm having a similar problem except the server won't start up at all. I'm trying to upgrade from 9.21, which itself stopped working when I upgraded my w2k to sp3 (it had been (mostly) OK before, even though 9.21 wasn't supposed to be supported on w2k). I did notice that the environment variables weren't set in Control Panel, though setting them didn't seem to make any difference. Neither did running setnet, nor any of IBM's registry checking utilities. I then tried to uninstall, but the uninstall program gets: "The product version of the installation program is not the same as installed version of the product or product is already uninstalled". Has anyone seen any of this before? Is there some document I can read that tells me exactly what settings to check in my installation? Failing that is there some way I can uninstall the whole thing without reverting to 9.21? It's only a trial installation (of course) so there are no chunks I'm interesting in keeping. As I said, it all worked fine-ish with 9.21 with no sp installed. TVM Andy Kent
