Informix & NIS

We are planning to implement NIS on Sparc 20 , Solaris 2.4 for the hosts. We intend to move all the entries from /etc/hosts to /some_other_place/hosts except that machine's. Would this configuration affect Informix in an distributive env. Informix Products : ---------------- SERVER ====== Informix On-Line 5.04.UC2 I-STAR 5.04.UC2 CLIENT ====== I-NET 5.04.UC2 I-4GL/RT 4.13.UD1 Has anyone tried this kind of settings.
