Hello,
I am a relatively new user of Informix and a very new user of Solaris threads.
These two do not mix well!!!
I have an executable which starts up, connects to the database (mi_open),
does some queries, and kicks off a thread. In this thread, my function
attempts to create another connection to Informix (once again, mi_open), but
the connection fails with either a -27001 or -25582 error code.
My environment: Solaris 2.5, C++, Informix Universal Server (using TCP/IP ...
not shared memory), Solaris threads library, Orbix (CORBA)
The code which is being called to create the new connection is the exact same
code that the main process uses (in a C++ class). I can create as many
connections as I want in the main process, but the first attempt in the
thread fails.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
r o b
