ontape assert fail - OWS 7.20UC4 Solaris
Posted in 1998
Under Solaris 2.6 on a new SPARC E4000
ontape has worked in the past, but now it fails, saying
Archive failed. function read archive backup failed code -1 errno 2

The only difference since when it worked, is that chunks, dbspaces and
data have been added; the amount of data to be archived has grown
from about 1 Gb to maybe 5 or 6 Gb.
It fails identically using 2 different tape drives; an Exabyte Mammoth
and a 4mm DAT; both Sun products.
Anyone seen anything like this?
TIA.
