Shared Memory Error
Posted in 1996
Env: Sco Unix 3.2.4.2 on Altos/Acer 5000 (486DX 66) with 16M memory We are trying to install Online 5.+ and have hit the message "Shared memory base address illegal" or words to that effect. So far no luck changing the current kernel parameters for shared memory which by the way do not include a choice of base address (at least not obvious to us). After relinking and restarting the system, the same error appears. What is a good starting point for these parameters and what are we missing? We have r several fm (SCO and Informix release notes) but are not getting it. Any clues? If it's in the manual, cite chapter, verse, or any hint. Oh yes, and I saw a reference about the tuning parameters in the FAQ but with regard to Solaris.
