That way everybody can find out if something is happening. > Sigh. The c.d.i get together was orginally done at the Chicago Conference. It was meant to be a *sekret* party for those who actually contribute to c.d.i and may not be invited to the *private* parties that certain vendors used to throw for their *special* clients. The idea was that if you read c.d.i, you were in the *sekret* club. This way, we can put a face to all those guys who post here. The party was supposed to be an event that you can let your hair down, and tell us how you *really* feel about Informix and discuss some problems that you face on your latest project. This was to be separate from the Informix's USER GROUP party that Christine throws. (Now the IIUG? party?) That was so that the users group members who weren't part of the Latin sales, Federal Sales, etc would have a place to go and not start riots in the streets. (Of course back in Chicago, its really easy to crash any party, especially when you live 4 blocks from the club and you know the bar really well. ;-) Yet I digress. The c.d.i get together was supposed to allow individuals to talk freely. (Especially after a couple of pints.) Share *sekret* tips that you won't find from the conference sessions. For those of you who haven't been to a conference, its great to go to one. I've been to them all, so it starts to get repetitive and the only place you get to learn anything new is on the conference floor. (I know it sounds harsh, but its true. I learned more from playing with the data director for Java within 15 min, than by listening to the sales pitch er I mean presentation.) Now, rumor has it that Informix is going to have its shareholders meeting soon. (Somehow I doubt it because they haven't shipped out the annual report. Or if they have, I haven't gotten mine yet.) I was planning on going to it, just to say hi to Bob and Myron (Saranga). So I don't know if I am going to route to Seattle on the return flight or not. In any event, as your attorney, my advice to you is to drink heavily. (Just don't drive.) -Cheers Uncle Mikey BTW, For those of you who don't know, there are just too damn Mikes around. I use Mikey or Uncle Mikey, so that people know its me. I use Myron for Mike Saranga. Heck its his legal name, just checkout http://securities.stanford.edu and search on Informix. You can learn a lot from that site. -- #include <std_disclaimer.h> /* Mike Segel (MS385) */ #include <No_Spam.h> #ifdef OFFENDED_BY_CONTENT The author takes no responsibility for this post.
