Creating new logical logs on OnLine 5

Hi everyone Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to create new logical logs on an OnLine 5 instance that are larger than the value of LOGSIZE that was set when the instance was initialized? I know that modifying LOGSIZE, bouncing the engine and then creating new logs sizes them correctly to the new LOGSIZE on an IDS engine, but it doesn't seem to work on OnLine. The new logs are created but sized according to the original value of LOGSIZE. Can anyone confirm that this is the case or tell me what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks Simon

IMS OL5 logical logs MUST all be the same size and the engine enforces that. The logical logsize that was in the TBCONFIG file at startup is encoded on one or the reserve pages and cannot be changed and that is where tbparams looks for the size to make new logical logs. You'll have to unload your data and initialize a new instance. Art S. AFAIK you can't do this, all the logs must be the size as spec'd in tbconfig. If you want to change the size you will need to re-initialise the instance, taking a copy of the data first of course.
