New release of utils2_ak
Posted in 2017
Folks: New features in myschema and a bug fix in dostats: Myschema: New file handling options permitting the user to break up the types of DDL into separate files. Files can now be specified independently for indexes, procedures and functions, triggers, views and synonyms, grant and revoke statements, and for update statistics commands. These are, respectively: --index-file, --procedure-file, --trigger-file, --view-file, --grant-file, --distributions-file. Also the --primary and --secondary have been enhanced to work more smoothly together and with the new options and are alternatives to naming the primary and possibly the secondary file at the end of the command line. The secondary file will contain start violations, constraints, aggregate definitions, and most of the objects not assigned to other files. The primary file (which defaults to stdout) contains casts, roles, type definitions, row types, sequences, and tables and anything not assigned to another file. By default everything goes to the primary file. Thanks to Paul Watson for the idea. Dostats: The May 24th, 2017 release fixes a problem affecting non-logged databases. Dostats was trying to set an isolation level which is not valid in a non-logged database. The resulting error could be worked around when dostats executed commands with the -N option, however, when using dostats to create a script to be run later, executing that script would cause the task to error out. Dostats no longer generates a SET ISOLATION statement when running against a non-logged database, even when writing commands to a file.
