Back home in Alabama, we have a phrase for explanations such as this one. As this is a family-oriented newsgroup, however, I'm afraid I can't repeat it here. > Also, would anyone have any Informix 4GL work-alike that runs on > Linux? www.empress.com They're making a killing selling their RDBMS for Linux. The personal version is $150, and I'm thinking about buying it. Small businesses and people who use databases as auxillary parts of their computer systems (like network weenies such as yours truly) are an interesting case. Would I like to see Informix for Linux? You bet your sweet kisser I would. Were it available, would I use it? Yep. Is lack of Informix going to cause me to switch platforms? No. I'd really like to hear something from Informix soon about their Linux plans so I should know whether or not to wait on them. -- Todd Graham Lewis Linux!
