Snapshot Technology

Hi, We are using IBM IDS 11.50.FC6 & IDS 11.50.FC7 on Sun Sparc. I need to know which technology is available for Snapshot solution with Informix. Can we take snapshot backup from Secondary/RSS ? Thanks.

Hi, in the "Backup and Restore Manual" look for the description of External Backup and Restore. It uses commands "onmode -c { block | unblock }". This is what you need for doing a snapshot backup of the database. At the IIUG Forum pages you may also find lengthy discussion threads on the topic.
