Record Locking Problems

Hi,
I have just upgraded from SCO Unix and IDS 7.31 to Linux Redhat 8 and IDS 9.41.
The problem i'm having is tables created with 'lock mode row', it isn't doing
what it says and appears to be page level locking. I've used 'oncheck' and it
confirms the table is set to "lock mode row".
when I lock a single row for update it is locking other rows aswell, not all
rows but some!!
Is there a problem with using "lock mode row" on this version of IDS and/or
redhat 8??
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Sean
Hi.
Do you have any indexes on the table?
Do you attempt to update indexed row?
If yes, server can lock a rows which have same index keys with your row.
Can you give ISAM error. It can make clear the situation.
Best regards, Konstantin

Hi,
I have seen this before. Its a known problem. Check that you have the
fix to bug 166507, and ask tech support about the IFMX_UNDOC_B151523
environment variable.
