Hi,
maybe you got the wrong password encryption method with your switch of
OS ? IDS normally supports only the wellknown UNIX encryption (as done
by crypt() system call), but not e.g. MD5 (where MD5 used to be default
on some Linux distributions).
With 9.40.UC2 onwards, you can also utilize PAM. See
$INFORMIXDIR/release/en_us/0333/pam.txt
