Pentaho with(out) informix...
Hi ,
Anyone here is working with Informix and Pentaho (community version) in
production without major problems?
Have anyone use other DW/BI solution with Informix successfully? (free /
open source solution)
At the company I work, we start a little project to create our first
data mart.
Our main database is Informix,so how we found some references about
Informix + Pentaho at the internet we decide start to use it.
We installed Pentaho and configured the access to our Informix successfully.
=== Our problem:
At first click on "drill down" we got a SQL error (unsupported
syntax by Informix).
We start our test with ifx 11.50 , then I tested this SQL with 11.70 and
not work too (see the SQL syntax bellow).
Appear the Pentaho generate a lot of SQLs unsupported by Informix what
for us make Informix (or Pentaho) useless.
Our first solution, as fast solution for now, is replace the database. I
will try MySQL to start our project (we need show some result soon).
But, as Informix user/client we want keep all our systems working over
Informix environment. So , after we will looking for others solutions
(Jasper?), just with hope to found something what support IBM Informix
without major problems or restrictions.
Just for curiosity , this is similar SQL , automatically generate by
Pentaho , unsupported by Informix.
