Try onmode -F (Informix Online Dynamic Server Volume 2 Version 7.1,
Page 40-49)
The original poster had a problem as follows:-
Message Log File: /d2/informix/online.log
13:20:49 size of resident + virtual segments 162562048 + 362864640 >512000000
total allowed by configuration parameter SHMTOTAL
13:20:49 out of virtual shared memory
This means that the Informix DBa needs to increase the Informix
paramater SHMTOTAL.
Note if this value is increase UNIX kernel paramaters associated
with the maximum size of a process may need to be increased E.g.
HDATLIM,SDATLIM,SVMMLIM,HVMMLIM,MAXMEM,MAXUMEM (Not all of these
apply on all platforms. Description are maxmimum size of a process,
maximum amount of virtual memory that may be mapped to a process
or similar.
Also parmaters related to maximum size of a shared memory segment
may need to be increased.
