Connect to MicroStation

I`m trying to connect a INFORMIX Database (IDS 7.3) to MicroStation SE Vers. 5.7.0. The IDS, the Database and MicroStation are on the same SGI (IRIX 6.2.). The only message I get is: Unsuccessful CONNECT statement Has anybody ever tried this? Are their any specific settings necessary?
