Is this a bad thing?? This is caused by shutting down you HP-UX without first shutting down the Informix engine. The messages you see are not bad but there are other consequences that are. You could have unwritten log pages in memory (one logical log buffer's worth and one physical log buffer's worth if the database uses unbuffered logging, up to an entire logical log's worth for databases with buffered logging). This can cause loss of data and damaged indexes. Art S. Kagel
