What are you temp spaces like? I have found that more smaller temp
spaces vs fewer larger ones improve index build performance. However,
there is a tradeoff There are some Informix operations that can only
use a single temp dbspace.(Unfortunately, I can't recall what they are
at this time). In this situation it is best to have the largest temp
dbspace you can configure - 2gig.
