Sure - We cannot add column level encryption because of the applications that would need to be changed - just won't happen here. We need to be able to dynamically encrypt specified column data in a result set used for a report. I picked MD5 because it was used in the first c program I found on the net that I could modify and use for our purpose - it could be any commonly accepted hash algorithm. Competitors of ours have this functionality built-in, might not be a bad idea for us to create a better version of it... MM
