I use a COBOL format, use the EBCDIC-US Character set, and in the picture column enter s9(07)v99 or s9(13)v99 depending on the COBOL file definition, and in the usage column enter Comp-3. You have to enter the picture column correctly or it will not work. I am using it on 7.23 on Solaris 2.5. Its amazingly fast....
