to_char, Julian day

The following sql works correctly, select to_char(created,"%Y") from systables; This returns the year from the date ... select to_char(created,"%j") from systables; That should return the Julian day ... it returns 001 ... date +%j ... gives the correct Julian day ... date +%Y gives the year ... Has anybody seen this issue, or might it be a bug? I'm working with ids 10.0fc5 .. however I have also tried this on a 9.40fc8 engine ... both on AIX 5.3. Any insight would be appreciated...I may also open up a call with Tech Support ... PDL
