Dynamic Server can not find message file

Hi Everyone, I loaded Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC5 on to my Linux box. When I first started it, everthing ran find. Now I get a message "Cannot find message file. Check INFORMIXDIR and DBLANG" whenever I try starting the server. The only way for me to get the server running again is by reloading and configuring IDS. If anyone knows of what can be causing this problem, please let me know. Thanks, Stan Buskus -- Ting-a-ling! Ting-a-ling! - Kilgore Trout

Due to the newer libraries in the former, the software loading order is significant and had to be reverse. Always load the oldest stuff first. The install manuals leave a lotta doubt so check with tech support for the proper order. ---dave k., ameritech
Just an FYI .... With the SDK product, the rule of TEN should not really be consulted. Client SDK 2.01 and 2.02 contain ESQL/C (I-Connect) 9.14 and 9.15, respectively. As such, it must be installed AFTER any IDS 7.2x or 7.3x engine. If it is installed before the engine, then the Client SDK product bundles are unlikely to work, most likely obtaining unknown error message numbers due to being overwritten by 7.2 or 7.3 specific libraries and message files.
