custom runner problems under Solaris
Posted in 1998
Fellow Informix Professionals: My company is considering moving from SCO to Solaris 2.6x86. We are having problems creating a functional custom debugger/run-time for the Rapid Devlopment System, RDS. Everything links properly, but these are the errors we're getting at runtime: debugger/fgldb: -16388 Cannot Create Debugger Window. You are probably out of memory. Take whatever steps you operating system permits to increae the amount of available memory. This error occurs with even the smallest demo program. runtime/fglgo: Program stopped at line number 0. SQL statement error number -931. Cannot locate sqlexec service/tcp service in /etc/services. Checked the /etc/services file and the sqlexec service is there. Software on Solaris: 4GL RDS DEBUGGER, 4GL P-CODE COMPILER, 4GL C-CODE COMPILER are all 6.05 UD1 The Online engine is 7.23 UC1 running on an SCO server. CAVEATS: 1) 4GL C-compiler compiles, links, and runs properly. 2) Informix Tech Support hasn't been able to help, but we haven't escalated to the next level. Our opinion is we probably have a "C" compiler switch that cfgldb/cfglgo doesn't have set properly, but who knows? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Ed Schaefer
