EXTSHMADD New shared memory parameter?

Hi family. In configuring a new server, I noticed a parameter I have not noticed before: EXTSHMADD I'm trying to figure out from the "Administrator's Reference" exactly what is the functional difference between SHMADD and EXTSHMADD. The text reads: EXTSHMADD specifies the size of extension virtual segments that you add. Other virtual segment additions are based on the size that is specified in the SHMADD configuration parameter. Duh... What's an "extension virtual segment" as opposed to what gets added when the main shared memory segment fills and the engine adds another segment of size SHMADD? Thanks for anything more coherent than that excerpt. -- J.

Those that are marked VX as opposed to V. I think you get VX segments when you run a udr in its own vpclass.
