Is the author an Informix >engineer? Its an Informix *MANUAL* but it details the things we all find ourselves having to do. INFORMIX-4GL by Example Version 4.1 July 1991 Part No. 000-7022 I'll echo Jim's text on the book. It is a *must* for anyone starting out with 4gl. My earlier "barb" came out only days after I had obtained a copy. Its ironic that now that I know enuff to be dangerous I finally get the book that would have *really* helped sometime back. The rest of the 4.1 manual set though somewhat revised from the older hardbound format, is still pretty much organized like a tabloid Ie: there are pieces on a particular subject strewn about into several books. As much as I hated those old hardbound puppies, I miss the tabs for quik access to a section. Don "and my kids do *lots* of yardwork after we discuss their options" Bolton
