Q: SQL "LIST" literal
Posted in 1999
Hi !
How do I specify (syntax) a list literal for the following collection type
LIST ( NVARCHAR(73) NOT NULL )
The motivation behind my question is that I want to call a SPL procedure
Flush( LIST ( NVARCHAR(73) NOT NULL ) )
I might add that there is also a Flsuh() defined without any paramters.
When I call the procedure like
EXECUTE PROCEDURE Flush( "LIST{ 'some string'::NVARCHAR(73) }" )the execution fails because of IUS is not able to "resolve Flush".
I tried various syntactic alternatives for above literal but neither would do.
However, if I define another stored procedure like
CREATE PROCEDURE FlushWrapper()
DEFINE theList LIST ( NVARCHAR(73) NOT NULL );
LET theList = "LIST{ 'some string'::NVARCHAR(73) }";
EXECUTE PROCEDURE Flush(theList);END PROCEDURE;
everything works fine.
Any ideas ?
TIA,
Chris
