Hi, How to get the details of - what the informix engin is doing in background to get query results? like is it creating a temp table or not etc... Regards, Nandkishor

Start your query with set explain on; Results will be written sqexplain.out - location of that (and actually it's name) will vary with the OS and version of the engine you are using. See a manual near you for details. IDS version ? If IDS 9.40 or later and want to check a specified session, you can also use onmode -Y <SID> 1 and onmode -Y <SID> 0 Cheers.
