Re: 668: System command cannot be executed. 255: Not in

I wonder if the 'system command cannot be executed' relates to the sql
statement error. Is there a 'system' command anywhere in the sql script ?
If so, then you may need to make sure that the informix engine is started
by the user informix, not the user root.
We had that error and that is how we corrected it.
I think the 'not in transaction' message is separate, about something
else. You may need to add a 'begin work' statement.

668: System command cannot be executed. 255: Not in transaction
Hi all
I'm new to this... so please be patient.
I'm using AIX Version 5.2.
I'm just trying to update a table and it's giving me the following
errors:
668: System command cannot be executed.
255: Not in transaction.
This is happening in a "4gl program" and/or "SQL"
It's a simple update:
update 'table_name"
set "columnX" = "valueX"
where "columnY" = "valueY"
Please help.
Thank You,
Frank.
