I think I was too brief in my first posting.
I using a Sun E3000 running Solaris 7 and IDS 730.UC3
I got the source from IIUG site. The author is Art S. Kagel.
I used ar -x myschema.source.ar to extract the sources in the archive.
I'm trying to compile Art's new dbschema (myschema) utility.
Thanks for your help!

I had this same problem. I resolved it by downloading the latest esqlc release from the informix site, it think it was version 2.4?). Anyway, after that got resolved, I had more syntax errors due to double quotes in the dynamic sql statements. I resolved that by replacing the double quotes with single quotes and using escape characters, for example(from the print_checks.ec file, line 72): EXEC SQL PREPARE s_chks FROM 'SELECT constrname, ch.* \\ FROM informix.sysconstraints co, informix.syschecks ch \\ WHERE co.constrtype = \\'C\\' \\ AND co.tabid = ? \\ AND co.constrid = ch.constrid \\ AND ch.type = \\'T\\' \\ ORDER BY ch.constrid, ch.seqno'; Hope this helps.
