Problem in importing database with dbimport -l co
Posted in 1994
Hello
-> We use dbimport -l <database name> to import the previously exported
-> data. The database is about 1GB size, dbimport -l gives an error "Too
-> long transaction " while loading data to a table which has about
-> 200,000 records.
-> Is there a parameter i need to change? Or I can only use dbimport
-> without -l option? If we don't use -l how do we turn the logging for
-> a database after creating the database?
The quickest way of getting around this is to not import the data using
-l. dbimport the data, do a level 0 archive and go into Logs/Databases
in tbmonitor to change the logging.
If you must dbimport -l, you're going to have to make your logs many and
big and run a continuous backup at the same time.

Billy
