DBEXPORT/DBSCHEMA problem
Posted in 1994
I was using DBEXPORT to export a database from an OnLine 5.01.UD3 engine running on SunOS 4.1.3 -- After exporting 348 tables, DBEXPORT ABENDs with a 'syntax error'. I can see nothing wrong with the SQL statement generated. So, I drop the table where DBEXPORT ABENDed and run it again. This time, it ABENDs after export 347 tables. I drop the table is ABENDs at and try again. You guessed it! It ABENDs after dropping 346 tables! This is a count of the tables and a du after each ABEND: ls *exp | wc 347 347 5199 du 6780 ./shoe.exp 8347 . ls *exp | wc 346 346 5184 du 6780 ./shoe.exp 8349 . ls *exp | wc 345 345 5169 du 6780 ./shoe.exp 8351 . I thought I was running into some type of system limitation, so I used DBSCHEMA -- Lo and behold, it ABENDs in exactly the same place! Obviously, there's a bug/error in the engine that I can't see... Has anybody run into this before? I'm losing my mind... -- Clay Irving clay@panix.com
