Control U removing screen literals

We use control U in one of our applications to call a function which opens a pop-up window with a form. On AIX, it works great, but on an HP platform, the screen literals disappear. The user can still enter info in the fields of the form via and INPUT statement but the literals are gone!! Any suggestions?
