Greeting !! I've a c# using Client-SDK 3.5 connecting to IDS 11.5 , The Client and IDS are located in different country , using a very slow VPN , sometimes user will encounter the following error , it happened in update sql to IDS 11.5 ... ERROR [HYT00] [Informix .NET provider]Timeout expired. ERROR [08S01] [Informix .NET provider]Communication link failure. C# is coded by another programmer , he said if he take a long rest and then do update , this error happened , if he always keep doing something , then this kind of error will not happen , he do not know if it is IDS's behavior , I told him it should be .NET parameter , I've never encounter this problem in esql/c !! Is it really 2010 .NET parameter ? Or CLient-SDK 3.5 will not talk to 2010 .NET well ?
Hello. In my opinion, I always recommended our developers using .net framework to use Data Server Driver. Mainly because its fully optimized to .net environments, second because it already has support for entity framework features. See this link: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=4020&uid=swg27016878 Hope it helps. Best regards.
