They take up too much of time to maintain for our particular applications. We currently use a RAID 10 configuration for the raw disk and put the db in one dbspace. This works quite well for us. So yes ... I've heard of alter fragment but because of my Oracle ignorance I wouldn't have equated an Oracle partition with an Informix table fragment. Then again maybe I need to be reeducated on Informix table fragments... :) "Obnoxio The Chav" <obnoxio@serendipita.com> wrote in message news:1105701016.b2c61084f0b0620462657c4e055dc3ad@teranews... > > > Gregg Walker said: >> >>> If you must do this via an 'unload', look at import and export >>> (imp/exp). >>> You could perhaps export Partition X (from Table A), create a new >>> partitioned table with the new partitions you want, import into this >>> table, and then swap these partitions back into Table A. >> >> This sounds like a lot of tedious work since I have about 20 tables that >> need to have this done. >> >>> Although I'm also not really sure why you are unloading the table at all >>> ? >> >> Me either.
