New Era Debugger Blues

Pardon me for venting frustration at New Era's Debugger. We have recently decided to incorporate procedures in our database. I hadn't used procedures before this and inadvertently set up an infinite loop. I knew something like this was happening when the program just seemed to freeze. So I wanted to locate that point in the code where this happened. To lay out a general description: Insert Button: ... New winWN(containingWindow:mainWindow) (*) (this window is a simple listbox with four single select options) CALL win.open() <closes upon leaving> IF x=2 or x=3 THEN ... New win2WN(containingWindow:mainWindow) (some radio buttons etc.) CALL win2.open() <closes upon leaving> IF some criteria THEN CALL some_function with approx ten procedures... CALL someother_function with two more procedures ... My infinite loop was in here... The debugger insisted it was still trying to create winWN. (*) I set various break points all through the code but to no avail. Finally I wrote MESSAGEBOX calls all through this stuff just to check my variables. Consequently, it took almost a full day just to find out that a test for sqlca.sqlcode = 100 wasn't working. Is this known behaviour or am I just ignorant of proper debugging procedure - or both? By the way, I've got it working now. Thanks, Scott
