I'm looking for general performance characteristics (and any tips/tricks) for anyone running a system similar to this one: Four (or more) 12-way 4GB S/70's (AIX 4.3) running OLTP (IDS 7.3x) with 4000 max (1200-1500 concurrent) users. We estimate total usage at somewhere near 600-800GB after a couple of years running. We'll most likely be running a single database with 1200 tables, although it may be possible to break it up. The rollout will be gradual, but completed by the end of '99. We may also develop a data warehouse based on this application's data. Do I have enough/the right iron to do the job?
